Getting started
How do I create my card?
Open Confer, sign in with Apple, and follow the onboarding: add your name, a short tagline, an optional bio and photo, and the social links you use most. Your card is created the moment you finish.
How do I share my card?
Confer generates a QR code for you. The best way to show it is to add the pass to Apple Wallet — double-tap the side button of your iPhone, swipe to the Confer pass, and your screen brightens automatically so anyone can scan. You can also open the Confer app and tap "My Card" to show the QR code in full screen.
How does the other person see my card?
They point their iPhone Camera at your QR code. iOS shows a small App Clip banner — they tap it, your card opens instantly with one-tap buttons to your socials. They don't need to install anything to see it.
Troubleshooting
The App Clip banner doesn't appear when I scan
- Make sure the recipient is using iOS 14 or later.
- App Clips appear in the Camera app — not in third-party QR scanners. Have them open the built-in Camera app.
- The QR code needs to fill a reasonable portion of the frame. Move closer if it isn't being detected.
- If they have a very old iPhone, the App Clip card may take a few seconds to load on first use.
My card photo looks wrong on the App Clip
For best results, upload a photo that is at least 1800×1200 pixels in a 3:2 ratio. Confer reformats it server-side for the App Clip card. After you change your photo, it can take up to a day for the new image to appear on the App Clip card while Apple reviews the change.
The QR code isn't scanning
- Use the Wallet pass — it auto-brightens your screen, which dramatically improves scan reliability in low light.
- Clean your screen.
- Hold the phone steady and move it slowly toward and away from the camera until the QR code comes into focus.
I didn't get a notification when someone connected
- Check that notifications for Confer are enabled in Settings → Notifications → Confer.
- Push delivery occurs only after the recipient installs the full Confer app and signs in — App Clip-only scans do not trigger a notification.
Sign in with Apple isn't working
Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on your device and that Apple's system status page does not report a Sign in with Apple outage. If the problem persists, sign out of iCloud and back in, then try again.
Account & data
How do I delete my account?
Open Confer → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, card content, photo, and push token. Connections involving you are anonymized. Deletion is irreversible.
How do I export my data?
Email privacy@getconfer.app from the address associated with your Apple ID, and we'll send you a copy of the data we hold about you.
How do I report inappropriate content or a user?
From the App Clip or full app, tap the report icon on the card. You can also email support@getconfer.app with the card URL and a brief description. We review reports promptly and remove content that violates our Terms of Use.
How do I change my email address?
Confer uses your Sign in with Apple identity. To change the email Apple shares with us, update it in iOS Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Confer.
